Tuesdays
Tuesdays
With Nantwich School of Rock
Tuesdays is a bi-weekly session of live music and spoken word, and will open this years Words And Music Festival.
A spin off from the Festival, Tuesdays was launched early in 2024 as an opportunity for songwriters and poets to perform.
Almost three years later, the night is known for its eclectic and unpredictable vibe, welcoming soloists and bands, artists performing folk, blues, and Americana, country, jazz and pop, with a healthy mix of poets, authors, rappers and freestylers. Although cover versions are definitely not banned (!) the night still focusses on original work.
The night is co-hosted by internationally acclaimed songwriter and musician Nigel Stonier along with popular, fast emerging duo Nastee Chapel, who will each perform some of their own work and introduce a range of diverse acts.
Every session is different from the last, and will never be repeated!!
Get there early as seats are limited, doors open at 7.30pm
Opening the festival - Nantwich School of Rock
The night will open with the debut performance of Nantwich School of Rock.
Seven young local musicians, aged between 12 and 15, will showcase songs they have written over the past few months and rehearsed during their weekly sessions.
Launched in late 2025 as an addition to the newly rejuvenated NYCC (Nantwich Youth and Community Centre), the weekly School of Rock group was initiated and is led by volunteer Caroline Jones, with professional songwriter Nigel Stonier providing help and support in recent weeks.
