Rumer
Plus special guest Megan Lee
Friday October 13th – Nantwich Civic Hall
Since her album “Seasons Of My Soul” – including smash hits “Slow” and “Aretha” – hit the top 3 in 2010, subsequently going Platinum and garnering her two BRIT nominations, British singer-songwriter Rumer has established a place at the forefront of UK singer songwriters. Several of her songs have become timeless classics, and she has also won worldwide acclaim as an interpreter of the work of others, notably Burt Bacharach, whose work she recorded an entire album of, and who declared himself a a major fan of her voice.
After she relocated to the US her album “Nashville Tears” was released to great acclaim in 2020, and she was described at the time by the Daily Mirror as “one of the purest, and best, vocalists of her era”.
Rumer has played few UK shows of late and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome her to Nantwich, performing with her stellar band at The Civic Hall on Friday October 13.
One of the North Wests most popular and in-demand contemporary jazz singers, Megan has been played on BBC Radio 2 and has shared stages with acts including Rudimental, Ruby Turner and Pixie Lott.
She’s a long standing friend of the festival, and a regular presenter on Cat FM.
This will be Megan’s second time performing at Words And Music, and she has also led vocal workshops for us. We’re delighted to welcome her back.
